This work which has developed since 2016 has shifted into more accurate machine aided representations of pattern and perspective. I have developed a customised large scale XY plotter / drawing machine which I utilise as a studio tool for laying out compositions of line. In these works the act of viewing the work in person and good light adds to the experience as the subtle patterns and colour combinations tend to vibrate and shiver. The paintings with a horizon line ask the viewer to look as far into the painting as they can while the paintings without a horizon line confront the viewer with a wall or portal. In the paintings where a flowing grid floats over the background these are created with the use of tones from custom made tuning forks, particularly the frequencies of 220 hz and 153 hz. In these works there is an active collaboration with a computer and plotter for the purposes of layering line and pattern. I maintain a strong hand in the painting by working with washes and masks to accentuate the details desired.
